Our client in the health sector is seeking to recruit a Credit Officer to join their team.
Job Purpose
Effective management of medical debtors in compliance with the hospitals’ credit policy and containment of credit risk.
Credit Officer Job Responsibilities
- Customer Focus
- Responsible for ensuring that clients are handled in a professional manner, the information provided is correct and clients are correctly referred.
- Confer with other departments to aid in resolving medical debtors balance problems.
- Client relationship management to ensure there is continued Sales Focus
Credit Management
- Evaluation of debtor accounts, with reference to risk factors: Financial analysis, Credit evaluation and assessment, Collateral.
- Ensure all applicable documentation for debtors are received from other service departments.
- Ensure that documents for payments are completed correctly with the required authorization and signatures.
- Preparing reports and standard statements / Ensure that monthly ageing reports are submitted to respective stakeholders.
- Ensuring that customer contracts are complete and legally correct.
- Review and update debtors ageing report and debtors general ledger.
- Ensuring that difference between source documents and the System are corrected and the adjustments are filed.
- Enforce credit policies, credit lines, procedures and standards in conjunction with senior managers.
- Achieving credit control assessment targets / audit.
- Collect all due claims
Payments
- Compute refund payment schedules as per agreed timelines.
- Prepare and pass quarterly, Midyear and annual discounts due to Insurance Companies.

- 3 to 4 years general credit and reconciliation experience in a busy hospital
- Knowledge of Credit principles
- Computer literacy essential (Word, Excel)

- Skill in analyzing and evaluating financial information.
- Passion to work with numbers
- Bachelor Degree (Finance/Accounts Major).
- CPA/ACA part 2
