The Public Service Board of Machakos County wishes to recruit competent
and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per the
Constitution of Kenya 2010 Chapter 11 Section 235 and the County
Government Act 2012 Sections 66 and 62.
The condidate must posses Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of surgery from a recognized
university.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND EMERGENCY SERVICES
Reporting to the medical superintendent in charge , the specialist will
head the unit and discharge both clinical and administrative duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administering sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal or caudal methods.
- Liaising with other medical professionals to determine type and method of sedation.
- Coordinating administration of anesthetics with surgeons during operation.
- Examine patient, obtain medical history and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical procedures.
- Monitor patient before, during, and after anesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications.
- Any other duties assigned.
Requirements for appointment:
- Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of surgery from a recognized university
- Post graduate degree in relevant field
- Registered with the Kenya Medical practitioners and Dentists Boards.
- Minimum three (3) years post specialization experience.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Good Communication and Interpersonal skills.
Salary and Remuneration
Salary Scale: Kshs. 89,748 – 120,270 pm
Other allowance as per Public Service Commission of Kenya
recommendations for Job Group ‘Q’
Terms of Service: Contract.
