The Public Service Board of Machakos County wishes to recruit competent
and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per the
Constitution of Kenya 2010 Chapter 11 Section 235 and the County
Government Act 2012 Sections 66 and 62.
The candidate will be acquiring and interpreting various types of medical images including
radiographs to diagnose medical conditions.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND EMERGENCY SERVICES
RADIOLOGISTS - JG „Q‟ – 1 POST : REF: MKS/CPSB/2015/14
Reporting to the medical superintendent in charge , the specialist will
head the unit and discharge both clinical and administrative duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Acquiring and interpreting various types of medical images
- including radiographs to diagnose medical conditions.
- Assess patients and perform imaging services of high diagnostic
- value, report a variety of routine examinations and special procedures
- in radiography.
- Provide treatment for wide variety of common problems in
- consultation with other specialists.
- Supervise other medical personnel (clinical officers, lab
- technicians, and nurses’.
- Play a central role in clinical governance.
- Attends to emergency calls.
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements for appointment:
- Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of surgery from a recognized
- university.
- Post graduate degree in relevant field.
- Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist board.
- Must be wailing to work odd hours and on weekends/holidays.
- He/she must be a team leader and dedicated in service.
- Capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in a multi - ethnic environment with sensitivity
- and respect for diversity.
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and
- principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of
- Kenya.
- Proficiency in Computer Applications.
Salary and Remuneration
Salary Scale: Kshs. 89,748 – 120,270 pm
House Allowance: Kshs. 40,000 pm
Other Allowances as per Public Service Commission of Kenya
recommendations for Job Group ‘Q.
