Details
The Public Service Board of Machakos County wishes to recruit competent
and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per the
Constitution of Kenya 2010 Chapter 11 Section 235 and the County
Government Act 2012 Sections 66 and 62.

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND EMERGENCY SERVICES

NURSING OFFICER(BSCN)-JG„K‟-30POSTS: REF: MKS/CPSB/2015/21

Reporting to the Nursing Officer in-Charge the officer will be : -

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day to day nursing services in the county and sub county health facilities.
• Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient's outcomes; diagnosing common health conditions;
• Providing appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Integrated Management of Adolescents and Adulthood illnesses (IMAI), immunization and reproductive health;
• Providing health education and counselling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs; referring patients and clients appropriately;
• Facilitating patients' admission and initiating discharge plans;
• Maintaining records on patients/clients health condition and care; ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment;
• Collecting and collating data for research; evaluating healthcare outcomes on patients/clients and preparing individualised reports;
• Conducting assessment of schools health needs; planning, implementing interventions and preparing periodic reports;
• Identifying occupational health needs and making appropriate recommendations.

Requirements for appointment

• Be a holder of a degree in Nursing from a recognized training institute in Kenya.
• Have a registration certificate and a valid practicing license issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.

Salary and Remuneration:
Salary Scale: Kshs. 31,020 – 41,510 pm
Terms of Service: Permanent.
Other allowance as per Public Service Commission of Kenya
