Accounting Jobs at the Commission for University Education in Kenya
 
Assistant Accountant I
Grade  CUE 7
The Officer at this level will report to the Senior Accountant.

 

Assistant Accountant Key Responsibilities;

  • Maintaining registers of fixed assets, imprest, expenditure and debtors;
  • Collecting revenue;
  • Processing payment vouchers;
  • Posting data to the Commission’s Accounting System (SAGE);
  • Verifying cash book, payment and surrender vouchers;
  • Collecting and compiling information required in the budgetary processes;
  • Maintaining imprest and staff advance accounts;
  • Preparing bank reconciliations, cash flow statements and monthly expenditure reports; and
  • Reconciling ledger control accounts.

Requirements for the Assistant Accountant Job Kenya:


  • Served in the grade of Assistant Accountant II (CUE 6) or in a comparable and relevant  position in a public or private sector organization for at least three (3) years;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the disciplines of finance or accounting or its equivalent qualification from a  recognized institution and passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examinations; OR
  • Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants Examinations CPA (K) or its equivalent from a  recognized institution.
  • Certificate in computer application; and
  • Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
