The Officer at this level will report to the Senior Accountant.
Assistant Accountant Key Responsibilities;
- Maintaining registers of fixed assets, imprest, expenditure and debtors;
- Collecting revenue;
- Processing payment vouchers;
- Posting data to the Commission’s Accounting System (SAGE);
- Verifying cash book, payment and surrender vouchers;
- Collecting and compiling information required in the budgetary processes;
- Maintaining imprest and staff advance accounts;
- Preparing bank reconciliations, cash flow statements and monthly expenditure reports; and
- Reconciling ledger control accounts.
Requirements for the Assistant Accountant Job Kenya:
- Served in the grade of Assistant Accountant II (CUE 6) or in a comparable and relevant position in a public or private sector organization for at least three (3) years;
- Bachelor’s Degree in the disciplines of finance or accounting or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution and passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examinations; OR
- Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants Examinations CPA (K) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in computer application; and
- Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
