UNFPA National Project Officer Job Description
- Under the overall guidance of the UNFPA Deputy Representative and direct supervision of the Adolescent Youth Specialist, the National project officer AYSRH will substantively contribute to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of Adolescent/Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health.
- He/She is expected to analyze and assess relevant technical, political, social and economic trends and provide substantive inputs and feedback to SRH/HIV/AIDS programme formulation and evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the ministries of Health and Education as well as Non-Governmental Organizations in implementation, monitoring and supervision of Adolescent/Youth Sexual and Reproductive
- Health programme activities in the supported counties.
- Provide technical support to the ministry of Education Science and Technology on implementation of comprehensive Sexuality Education.
- Prepare and submit programme and financial analysis and reports on the implementation of the programme requests for funds (FACE), and ensuring the implementing partners adhere to UNFPA requirement and procedures;
- Participate in various technical working groups relating to Adolescent/Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Participate in the formulation of various Reproductive Health program documents for the referenced ministries and Non-Governmental Organizations.
- Facilitate and ensure regular monitoring, supervision and continuous internal evaluation of project activities;
- Support the preparation of annual work plans with implementing partners to ensure timely submission of work-plans and budgets, reports and other relevant documents, release of project funds and effective implementation of the project activities.
- Collaborate with other institutions and organizations in the sharing of experiences and lessons learned;
- Participate in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts of the Country Office;
- Facilitate the documentation and knowledge sharing on current and emerging trends in ASRH/HIV&AIDS and gender issues, by analyzing programmes, projects, strategies, approaches and ongoing experience for lessons learned, best practices, and shares with management for use in knowledge sharing and planning future strategies.

Qualifications for National Project Officer Jobs in Kenya
- Successful candidates must have a master’s degree in social sciences, Public Health and/ or other related fields.
- We expect minimum professional experience of 5 years, preferably in Adolescent/Youth Reproductive Health programme/project management in the public or private sector.
- Candidates are expected to be fluent in English Language and proficient in current office software applications.
